So I check my email today and found this gem:

QUOTE
Greetings!

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Preview Weekend taking place this Friday, August 22nd thru Monday, August 25th. Join thousands of your fellow players and experience the Age of Reckoning for the first time as you adventure through two tiers of content across three campaigns.

This is an invite-only event, so don't delay in preparing for WAR and be one of the first to engage in the thrill and glory of RvR combat before the rest of the world!

Below are instructions on how and where to download the game:

Closed Beta Participants

- If you are currently in the WAR closed beta, you will automatically be granted access to the Preview Weekend. Simply continue to patch your client and you'll be ready to play.

Pre-Order Customers

- Download the open beta client from Fileplanet.com (http://www.fileplane...o_key_auth.aspx). You will be required to create a free FilePlanet account and input your open beta pre-order code to access the file.
- In addition we also provide the client via bit torrent as an alternative means to download. You will find the link to the Torrent file here: http://torrent2.eamythic.com/WarBeta.torrent

Welcome to WAR. See you on the battlefield…WAAAGH!!!

Here is the kicker, I'm going amping this weekend so I probably won't get to play much. FRICK!

Frick?... Seriously, frick? Too much Scrubs re-runs?

Anyway, maybe you'll get an eased entry into the "open" beta.

Got my preview invite letter and have the client downloaded. Patcher just kicks me back to the login prompt though. I guess they don't have it active yet for the weekend accounts.

If you got into preview weekend you should be in Open Beta also. If you are in any existing phase of beta you should be in the Preview Weekend as well as Open Beta.

They were packed when I logged on this morning to make my chars. I'm on the Kraka Drak server. Dwarf engineer named Maraud.

I didn't get invited to the preview weekend but I can play regardless...

I picked a server and went, I'd like to all get together if possible.

If you had an invite to any of the betas you could play the preview shizzle I think. I honestly didn't play all that much. I made a few Swordmasters and tested out running through each of the different races' lowbie areas just to see if any of them seemed like faster levelling and if any of them gave better loot etc or were at least more fun. The human and dwarf areas felt a bit more complete than the elf area but not too much more exciting. The loot seems a bit odd between the different areas. Like for some reason in the dwarf area my swordmaster would get the choice of two almost completely identical weapons for several of the quests.

What's really annoying is the fact that as a swordmaster you are primarily supposed to be a big 2h sword wielding mofo but none of the rewards 1-10 offer a 2h sword. You have to get really lucky and have one drop or something. Seems a bit retarded to me.

At least for me, there doesn't seem to be that much variety in the classes. I really like playing the interesting, hard to play class in a game (ie. Warlock). But there doesn't seem to be one like that in WAR. Witch Hunter is kinda fun, but pretty bland at the same time, but it could be the lack of skills early on in the game.

All of the classes are like WoW classes where they each have some sort of gimmick but they all are super generalized so every class has some sort of cc, dps, etc with some heavy similarities between classes of the same archtype.

I played up to level 8 on a shaman. I liked the game a lot, and I only expect it to get better the higher the level I reach.
