Anyone fucked with this? I got it last night in a fit of extreme boredom. The server went down for a bit so I only did the tutorial + like 2 solo missions. It kinda seems like retarded planetside with PvE? I dunno.

My friend has been playing it a lot lately, he said it's like an FPS where you level kinda, I think COD/BF2 type stats? I don't really know.

It seems pretty much like planetside mixed with guild wars. There are silly PvE missions to level up in, after like level 10 you can do PvP missions too though I dunno how that works out cuz I got tired of waiting in a queue and went back to doing the PvE ones. The PvE missions seem boring and unimaginative though they do get progressively harder.

It's class based so you have 4 classes. A robotics class, that seems to have abilities that let them make force fields and summon little healing stations and gun turrets. An assault class that I think is pretty much the "tank" or heavy artilery class, I think they get some personal shields etc so they can be more on the front lines. A medic class that has some sort of healing gun they like shoot you with to heal you, and some other ae type heals. A recon class that is sorta like a sniper/ninja with stealth and some mines n shit.

You have skill trees similar to WoW's talent trees though not as interesting and with a lot less options. I am playing a recon guy and I have abilities that let me shoot further and do more damage with guns, or do more damage with ninja strike melee, or make my bombs better, absorb different types of damage, jump half again as high, etc etc.

I am only level 15 out of 50 so I am not sure how much things change as you level up. I was in a mission with a level 35 guy and he did something 2.5X as much damage as me so I guess you get significantly better as you get higher level. But I am not sure what makes that huge of a difference. You don't get anything in particular from levelling beyond access to more gear and more skill points. I think your base hp is the same from 1-50 from what I can tell.

Armor and Weapons seem to be exactly the same from 1-50 also as far as base stats are concerned. You have a typical WoW white->green->blue->purple system of gear where purple items are the best and white items have no bonuses. At level 15 they typically have lame bonuses on the green gear like .5% more hp per piece of armor or -2% less power usage. There are also craftable mods for weapons and armor that add bonuses as well. I'm not sure if these are in addition to the bonuses the gear already has or if they supercede them. I haven't messed around with them much. Other than the original gear you start with, anything you pick up will degrade with use. You have to repair it with repair kits. I don't know if they can be infinitely repaired or not.

You do not have ammo in this game rather a "power" meter that you deplete using any of your guns, stealth suits, healing, jet pack (everyone has one), etc etc. This replenishes as soon as you stop using whatever is taking power. You can increase this pool with skills though I am not sure if every class has something to do this.

Other than the little PvP missions there is also AvA which I think stands for Agency vs Agency where guilds fight it out for territory. I think this is pretty much endgame and seems pretty similar to how it worked in planetside. I think you can buy tanks and mechs and mercs to fight with you or to drive around I dunno how all of that works. I also don't know if there are limitations in terms of numbers to the battlefield areas. They also are only open at specific times. These areas also have some sort of "production" number they increase the more you control of certain types. Again I don't know what this is for or the details.

Overall the game seems like it could be fun but really isn't jumping out at me as something I would recommend anyone to buy unless they were just super into planetside and love that style game with a little bit of PvE shizzle added in for something to do during off hours.
