So whose getting the droid? I probably will just because it's not the iphone, and better imo because it's on Verizon which by far has better 3G than ATT and because Verizon left the system and android alone so anyone can get their apps on there, therefore more for free unlike the iphone.

That being said, Smartphones are expensive as hell. 75 bucks a month. Ugh...

Nothing holds a candle to the iphone at present. It does everything I personally need it to do. i.e. let me text people, take pictures of random shit, do everything work related I can do from my laptop (seriously, I can rdp, vnc, ssh, telnet, ftp, whatever into any machine or device on my network over vpn from my phone), and it has about 50 thousand more games than any other phone on the market so it has replaced both my DS and my PSP as my prefered device to play games on while shitting.

That being said, my unlimited everything plan is about 160 a month on AT&T and while it doesn't really give me any issues in Houston, elsewhere AT&Ts network has sucked for me. (though TBH anywhere I lost 3g on my iphone my verizon 3g card for my laptop has had pretty similar degrees of failure. This being most recently during a trip from Houston, through Dallas, to Denver)

I also think Apple is gay on how restrictive they are on apps for the phone, though I think some things like tethering are more AT&T being bitches than Apple. As much as I otherwise hate Apple the iphone is the most solid smartphone on the market and I would wager there are more people developing apps for the iphone than for every other smartphone combined. I have played around with friends' G1s and blackberrys and winmo pieces of shit and while some of them have a nicer feature or two compared to the iphone, nothing compares to the overall package.

One other thing. The Sprint faggots with their palm pres are worse than mac or linux fags in terms of general gayness. Seriously I have 4-5 friends who have these and spend all eternity proclaiming their greatness with their freedom to do whatever... And I admit their wifi hotspot app is pretty neat for what it's worth, and if my job didn't pay for a 3G card for me I might actually care enough to be swayed... The reality is though when we are all hanging out and someone is bored they grab my 3GS to play one of my 80+ games while their Pre sits there collecting dust.

tl;dr = iPhone 3GS is still the best smartphone in existence.
