i don't think we're ever gonna get a decent mmo these days. ive all but given up. been playing lotro with friends basically...cuz im tired of everything else. every other piece of shit people put up on the shelves....

apply for Face of Mankind Beta. They just started a 3 week wipe/dev period inorder to implement the last phase of closed beta. (CB4) So they are bound to let in more people and maybe you'll get lucky.

There is always Aion. Though it is starting to get more and more grindy as I get higher level. Not quite L2 tedious yet but getting there.

I'm level 13 in EQ, playing on the project 1999 server. Sadly this probably is the most fun I've had in an mmo since 1999.

Canceled my wow sub, currently leveling 50 dudes in Diablo 2.

My next games are either gonna be AoC (haven't played it yet), Aion (same), and/or Roma Victor (same, want to try this one more than the others).

I heard that around 30ish it starts to slow down, although I've never played so I wouldn't know...

Aside from FoM I'm waiting for a Shadowbane emulator to come out. I though about going back to the UOWOW Server that I played on, but fuck that shit...

IMO Aion slows down about 15ish and then again 20ish and I am guessing even more so when you get higher. But then I haven't really been levelling any new characters in games since Warhammer came out so maybe I am just out of the levelling mentality I dunno. The game seems like it will be relatively fun and the PvP looks decent. I am only 23 though and the main PvP area opens up at 25. So will post my impressions prolly next week if I get some time to actually level lol.

Aion's PvP system seems kinda amusing. There is a big PvP area (the abyss) with some capturable forts and such in that. Nothing exciting there. What I find amusing are these little "rifts" which are basically portals to the other side's area. They only let so many people through but basically you get a free ride to the enemy PvE area and you can run around and kill them until you die or recall back to your bind point. Not quite open PvP but a little bit better than only being able to fight inside the PvP areas. *shrug*

How many people play on that EQ server GC?

Do you actually run into other people in the game? OG EQ is not exactly very friendly for soloing for most classes.

Jil if you decide to play send Karorn a tell in game. You'll need some files from the forums at http://project1999.org/ to play. The server is a progressive server, so we're still in the classic era. Kunark won't be for another.... 8 months I think?

I remember buying EQ and playing it for ~ 15 minutes before I uninstalled it. I also remember wieners and butts and stuff. Mmmmm.
