Maraud said in the other post that the "open" beta starts on the 15th so not too far off! Hopefully it will be at least somewhat entertaining. From what a friend of mine was telling me it's pretty much just standard boring MMO fare but he thought the public quest system was really cool and if expanded on all throughout the levels could keep things somewhat interesting.

CORRECTION: I misread the info. The start date for Open Beta is still to be determined. You can put in the pre-order open beta keys and download the game client on August 15th.

I'll be picking up a pre-order box in the next day or so when I have the time. About 25 or so of the Virakar guys (some we played with in Vanguard) already have their pre-orders in, and several more say they will be there at launch. More still are in a "wait and see" mode.

Now if I can just get myself a Witch Hunter hat IRL, I can be nerdy-cool like the Trekkie people at game conventions

Oh yeah we should also pick a side I guess. I think it's 3 racial groups vs the other 3 racial groups right (sorry I have never been into Warhammer). So anyone from one group of races can group with anyone on that side? Or is it 1v1, 1v1, 1v1 since they seem matched up that way also?

I don't think I want to guild up with those Virakar guys again or really anyone to start off with. I will probably play unguilded for a while and then depending on what pace I play at find a guild that fits. It would be cool if we all ended up on the same server though even if not in the same guild.

Anyone have some sort of group they will be tagging along with in this game that gives them a server/team pref right off?

Opening day usually isn't all that bad for most newer MMOs. I just hate when they have play early bullshit and then spend a huge chunk of it fucking with bringing servers up and down like funcom did with AoC.
