I noticed today that there was hardly anyone logged on. I wonder if people are beginning to lose heart about this game. The multiplayer game is awesome but there are so many people having problems being able to connect. I hope that they haven't screwed up so bad that it is beyond fixing.

I don't think so. First of all their player base is split from people using Himachi and stuff like that (I know you were). Also, they are releasing a major connectivity path this week which totally changes the way people connect, and doesn't require you to even forward ports.

They've said the CEO ordered marketing to be stopped after the whole launch debacle, and he's going to start it up again once they put out the patch. Plus, everyone who bought the game before May 10th is going to get a 50% off coupon for another copy of the game to give to a friend. They're very aware that a critical mass of players is needed to sustain the game. A friend of mine who was a way hardcore DotA player just picked it up, after being very skeptical. He's loving it, but almost asked for a refund simply because of the connectivity shit and people dropping all the time.

Do you play over Hamachi because you pirated it or because it's more stable than the Impulse network?
