Darkfall. A game where you can kill anybody for any reason and take all their loot.

There's just one problem: You can't fucking get in the game.

Since Darkfall's "release", the majority of people's time with the game has been put into a queue with the hopes of getting into the game. The queue times has been as high as 5 hours. (I've personally waited 4 hours 45 minutes to get out of the queue and into the game. I timed my wait time with movies; I watched 2 of them and 2 recorded episodes of MANswers).

The fixes done by Aventurine haven't faired much better than the queue issues. Mobs and other players have been out of sync for a number of days now. Imagine trying to pk someone with a 3 second delay. It ain't happening.

I love Darkfall's concept and when I do get to play (and not afk macro), it is fun. What isn't fun is watching the game's splash screen in hopes that the PLAY button will illuminate.

If I were you, I would not plan on buying this game for a month or two. Maybe more.

As of right now, I don't plan on paying past this initial month.

Aventurine, you incompetence is showing.

Yeah, the more I hear the less likely it will be that I buy this game before summer. If they get the major problems sorted out, ill be there.

I haven't logged on in over two weeks. Maybe I just haven't spent enough time following the game or whatever to really be interested in it but I think about playing and instead find something else to do. The last time I tried to log into the game just to show a few friends I was in queue for a few hours before it let me in and I really just haven't felt like waiting around just to play a half assed game.

I read that the patch is supposed to fix the big queue problems and some lag issues. Its also supposed to let more people buy and play the game. Any news on that? Is it actually better? They also said they were refunding 34 days worth of game time.

There aren't really queues anymore. In the last 4 times I've played I had 0 queue time. That said, I am leaving the game.

Yeah, I cant believe they promised queues as a launch feature and then didnt finish them. Now they take them out completely! Stupid... someone let me know when Queues are back in, then I'll start playing....

I believed you but for me the only really fun time for newer MMOs is the first month or so. I hate playing catch up.

yeah but because of the NA release there won't be a catch up period (even though they are allowing people to migrate their characters from the EU server) because many people will be new/are waiting to start fresh there also...

Yeah, EK's philosophy was the right one. I had intended to get it on day one and then just kept putting it off. Now I have no intention of buying it till the NA release, which seems to be the right decision.

The NA release is going to be just as ugly as the EU release if not worse.

if it is, than DF won't be around long enough to launch the NA server imo. Last I saw on the boards they had between 2-3k people playing. No way in hell do they even bother with the NA server if people won't put up with their shit on the current one...

Well I'm pretty sure you're wrong on the whole 2-3k people playing thing. Before I even bought my copy (March 3rd) there had been around 5k characters made. The queue times no longer exist as well. But the initial release is going to suck just like this one. That isn't going to ruin them because there are still tons of people who wish they could buy the game.

Your doom and gloom is laughable sir!

2-3k is (or was about a week ago) about correct because people who got in stopped playing... They don't want to put up with the BS nor should they. Hell the dev's cant even focus on gameplay issues (which there are a fuckton of) because they have such a broken server system (which is at least slowly improving)

So yeah it's going to ruin them because when people here this much shit about a game they won't play, when people get a chance to finally play and then release they are paying for a game that should still be in beta they are going to quit. If the state of the game is anything close to what it is now when they plan to release the NA server than they shouldn't even bother because people will drop it faster than an std ridden hooker...

Message to DF devs. Fix your fucking game...

Maybe I just didn't play the game as much as you, I must've missed all of these gameplay issues you speak of.
