I'm a fan of The Next Generation, but not so much of the original. What is the lowdown on this game?

I don't know yet, but I was only a fan of the dude from Reading Rainbow, the dude with the fucked up forehead that had a real deep uber voice, and Captain, Jean Luc Picard of the U.S.S Enterprise (old ytmnd that is still stuck in my head).

I am not really sure how this one will work out. I mean I guess they could go all EVE where you just "play as the ship", or maybe have a bit of each like SWG with the Jump To Lightspeed shit. Even that seems weird though as Star Trek ships are pretty gd big with tons of people on board. I don't think you could like fly around in a star destroyer or anything in SWG. I just see whatever wack ass logic they use to fit gameplay into the typical mmo playstyle being a bit cheesy. I wish them the best but I think it will be utter fail.

I think of the various series for the most part TNG was the best of what I have seen though I think the original was funnier. All of the other series pretty much sucked balls. Like voyager for instance is like some super liberal crybaby pro-minority fest. DS9 was just stupid and had some of the gayest episodes of any TV series ever. I have probably only seen like 10 episodes of Voyager and 5 or so of DS9 but they were both so incredibly bad that I seriously doubt anything in the rest of the seasons would be able to redeem them. *shrug*

I could almost swear they already have some screenies out for it and from what I saw people were walking around on a planet with trees and shit. Maybe these were old?

Didn't the game get canceled or something? Is this just somebody else picking it up and running with it?

Cryptic picked up development for STO,aparently Perpetual never actually coded anything more than a few preview demos..actually,i dont even think they had demos....The Cryptic guy said that they were only far along with they design docs,which means Crytic will start from scratch.

Each player will command a ship.
