Yeah so I know it's not an mmo but w/e.

Anyway I wasn't sure if anyone was following this, it's Bioware's next game but what makes it special is it's basically the next Baulder's gate It looks pretty sweet, there are some nice lengthy vids and well I'm a big fan of Bioware. It's due out early 2009 on pc they said, so who knows what that means, but i like it because of the tactical combat possibilities (by pausing the game and assigning actions/directions etc.) It's just a nice change of pace from most fantasy "left click" fests imo.

Anyway here's a link just a heads up since these boards have been poo of late...

This game for me is like Darkfall in a sense. I followed it for so many years that I just can't bring myself to care anymore until release.

I feel ya.

Yeah I just saw the preview update and checked it out. At risk of hijacking my own thread, seeing as how this is a followup to baldurs gate is it worth it to check those massive games out because (gasp) i haven't played either of them actually... Do they still hold up well over time?

Totally worth it. You'd be surprised just how well 2D games age and Baldur's Gate had superb 2D art. 3D on the other hand...

Just be sure to check out some mods on Google. There are some pretty far out ones, like allowing you a seamless transition between BG1 and BG2, basically merging it into one great epic story. In any case, if you plan on starting with BG1, at least download the mod that updates the DnD2 rules to ADnD2 otherwise character management will feel pretty esoteric.

I didn't like the first Baldur's Gate so much. It was harder than an eskimo's nipple and starting off at level 1 sucks in D&D. BG2 is most certainly one of the greatest game of all time though. I totally gotta download it now tongue.gif

I remember reading about this game a while back and thinking it looked like it would be pretty fun. Haven't heard much since.

I would definitely check out the Baldur's Gate games. As many crappy shit tastic free to play MMOs as you try out I don't think the graphics being dated will bug you all that much haha.
